KEITH ROBINSON
better known as SAUCE
Sauce is the percussionist for the Backyard Band. The band is legendary in the Washington, DC area for their unique gogo sound. Keith discovered his passion for music as a young child when he heard the unique DC gogo sound. He broadened his horizons when it came to all music, R&B, rap, jazz, funk and latin gerne. He has been a member of the Backyard GoGo Band since late 89, early 90s.
Keith gained his stage name Hot Sauce from a friend Rick Hobie, when he turned down the name Too Cool. He also, has many years of experience and puts his heart and soul in to his music. Mastering his craft of playing percussion, instruments such as the conga and the timables/rolla-toms drums while performing with the Backyard Band. He has been able to grace the stage with Rare Essence, The Junkyard Band, Raheem DeVaughn, Devin the Dude, Scarface, Pastor Troy, and Fiend from No Limit Records, and that is just to name a few. In 2003, Keith recorded at Jimmy Hendreix Electric Lady Studio in New York, doing percusion for the song, Son’s Gonna Rise by National artist Citizen Cope, which is featured on HBO, GMC Commercials, and the Image Award winning movie Coach Carter.
The Backyard Band has awards such as Best GoGo Band in the Washington City Paper’s Best of DC 2016 Reader’s Poll. In March 2017, he was inducted into GoGo Radio and GoGo music Hall of Fame. Now, in 2019 Keith has started his own clothing line NOTAES. NOTAES is Seaton Place spelled backwards and is where he learned how to play the Congas. Fashion has a signifiant place in Keith’s heart. He is known in the Washington DC area for having in influential impact on the fashion scene. Keith has so much in store for the fashion world. Look for NOTAES in 2020!
